Safer Internet Day

As part of our international eTwinning project "United for Bees", the 2nd-grade students of Abazivka Gymnasium actively joined the global celebration of Safer Internet Day.

Since our young learners are only eight years old, it is crucial to build their digital literacy and online safety habits from an early age. We dedicated a special creative session to this topic, focusing on the theme: "Programs Used by Students".

🎨 Creative Puzzle Activity
Our students participated in a hands-on workshop where they colored and assembled heart-shaped puzzle crafts. Inside the puzzle pieces, the children identified and drew the logos of digital platforms, applications, and tools they already know or use for learning and entertainment.

🔒 What We Learned About Online Safety:
During this interactive lesson, we didn't just draw — we discussed vital rules for navigating the digital world safely:

• Recognizing AI: We practiced distinguishing real photographs from digital art and images generated by artificial intelligence.
• Account Protection: The students learned simple yet crucial rules on how to protect their personal information online.
• Digital Footprint & Respect: We talked about respecting privacy and behaving politely while communicating in a digital environment.

This engaging activity allowed our second-graders to reflect on their first digital experiences, helping us create a safe, responsible, and friendly digital environment for all project participants.
